membrane (recommended for wooden floors)
Ditra is a polyethylene membrane with a grid structure of square cavities, each cut back in a dovetail configuration and an anchoring fleece laminated to it’s underside.
Designed for tile and natural stone installations, Schlüter-DITRA 25 serves as a waterproofing membrane, a vapour pressure equalisation layer to accommodate moisture occurring at the underside of the substrate and an uncoupling layer for problematic substrates.
Schlüter-DITRA 25 uncouples the floor covering from the substrate and neutralises the tensions between the substrate and the tile covering that result from the varying deformations of the materials. Likewise, stress cracks in the substrate are bridged and are therefore, not transferred to the surface covering.

VDW 800 is an epoxy resin bound sand mortar suitable for use on pavements trafficked by light-to-medium sized vehicles. It has been used in Germany for around 20 years where it has an excellent track record of performance. It has been available in the UK for around 5 years and is gaining respect with each new job. It is typically used with flags, setts and concrete blocks, where joints are 30mm or more in depth and at least 5mm in width. It is water permeable and fully resistant to frost and the use of de-icing salts (Road Grit or Rock Salt, as it is often known). It achieves a good level of compressive strength (c. 15 N/mm²) and its results for flexural and bond strength, along with the important correlation of E Modulus are equally impressive.
It is ideally suited for pavements that receive occasional vehicular traffic, so the residential driveway featured in this Product Study is an ideal candidate.

150w mats are a good choice for all internal rooms and are usually installed beneath a tiled or stone floor finish but can be used beneath Vinyl’s with a covering of an appropriate of levelling compound.
For maximum economy and quickest heat up times use with a Marmox insulation board beneath. It is vital to use Schlutter Ditra on the floor to get heat reflection from underfloor heating and basically it’s prevent heat loss .

This special impregnator provides optimal protection for absorbent natural and artificial stone surfaces, setting the standard in protection levels.
Largely prevents oil, water and grease penetration and simplifies maintenance. Highly recommended in kitchens and bathrooms, etc., and with a Food & Hygiene Certificate it is ideal for use on work surfaces.
